スマホを触るのは散歩の時と寝る前くらいだから、普通の人よりスマホ依存度はかなり低いと思う。だから、iPhoneのフラッグシップモデルのニュースを見ると、自分の使い方からすると全然割に合わない価格に見えてしまう。クアルコムとか、目に見えない部分の特許料がいろいろ乗ってるのかな?と思って調べてみたら、最終的なハードメーカーの利益が圧倒的に高かった。そういえば、自作PCはあるのに自作スマホって聞かないな、と思ったら、なんと!

エストニアはデジタル先進国といわれる。人口は140万人で、日本でいえばさいたま市ほどの規模だ。これだけ少人数で効率的に行政やビジネスを運営するには、デジタル化とAIの導入が欠かせない。「日本も見習うべき」という意見はもっともに聞こえるが、就業人口6700万人の国で本気で効率化を図ったら大変なことになる。「国や雇用、治安を守るには生産性を上げすぎない方がよい」。奇妙な考え方だが、そう思う人もいるだろう。

「上達は真似から始まる」というのは、語学やスポーツの習得だけでなく、作曲や芸術のような創造的な活動にもよく当てはまる。でも、なぜ人は「真似したい」と思うのだろう。集団への帰属意識や憧れ、求愛、承認欲求など様々な理由があるはずだ。オウムのスノーボールが踊り始めたのは最初、飼い主の動きを真似たからだろうが、今では14の振付を自分で創り、習得している。オウムに元々踊る特性があるのか、彼が「師匠を真似て、そして超えた」のかは分からない。
